Video Editor
PopShift is seeking editors (long-term contract or full time) who are skillful storytellers and have experience with complex timelines/projects & visual graphics. We believe that editors truly are the final storytellers and have the great responsibility of crafting videos full of authentic moments, real human emotion, and nuanced perspectives. We’re looking for editors who are excited about our content & believe in our mission, and who are interested in cutting excellent and innovative non-scripted work.
The Company
Popshift is a platform dedicated to telling stories about the immigrant diaspora, primarily focusing on the South Asian community. PopShift’s mission is to tell stories entertainment, and the culture that surrounds them. We’re looking for a Video Editor to create videos that are smart, funny, and fit with Popshift’s voice.
The Job
Editors will work with Directors to create compelling videos through strong storytelling and smart editing. The quality of our videos is our highest priority, so that we're not just making content for content's sake. With your help, we want to create a lasting impact on our audience. Let's collaborate!
What You’ll Do
Edit episodes of our shows from start to finish, including graphics, basic audio cleanup, and all finishing touches.
Collaborate with Directors to tell compelling stories in an interesting, engaging, and smart way.
Who You Are
An editor with 4+ years of experience
Savvy with Premiere Pro / Final Cut Pro
Able to execute the style and tone of a professional youtube video
Comfortable editing virtual shoots/Zoom footage and multicam in-person shoots
A strong storyteller and critical thinker
Passionate about PopShift's ethos & mission
Preferably Based in LA or NYC (for ease of communication + data transfer)
